Re: What do you the people think of the war
I'm not very fond of our Commander and Chief but he did make the call and we have to respect that. Indeed, after 9/11 the American people wanted revenge, so we acted accordingly. Now that we've lost love ones the American people are blaming our Commander and Chief for those loses. I believe what we did and are still doing is right thing and we need to support only our troops, we need to support our government as well. When the time is right, our soldiers will come home and we need to THANK them for their service and dedication in defending our country.
The American people don't seem to appreciate their freedom and for those who have died to defending that freedom.

Have a Blessed Day

Re: What do you the people think of the war
I think we get 'defending our freedom' with 'advancing our interests' too easily. Many times in recent history the US has entered into armed conflict and touted it as defending our freedom.
This is a really deep subject, with many facets, so please don't pounce with judgements about loyalty or committment.
If you think about it most of the conflicts of we've been involved in since WWII are the result of decisions made at the end of WWII ... Korea, Vietnam, Middle East, etc. ... those decisions were made by politicians and diplomats and not the people of the countries involved ... and so goes the world.
I support a strong military, with a strong defensive stucture, but I do not support the use of our military to advance political, diplomatic, personal, or financial objectives.
The purpose of the military should be to take and hold ground. If we deploy our military, then we should hold, and own, the ground where they are deployed ...
We should remove the president's power to deploy combat forces, and deploy combat forces only if an act of war is declared by congress.
I know ... too damn deep ..

It's not too deep if you think for a minute.....political, financial and differing idealogies have put the military in harms way more times than not.
