Your Gulf War Unit: not assigned (helping veteran from 1/7)
Hi all. I hope no one minds me being here. I'm actually not a veteran, but I'm assisting a veteran with his VA Benefits claim, specifically PTSD. I've been trying to find information on what the 1/7's role was in Operation Desert Shield, with specifics where possible, and I'm finding basically the same information over and over (and it's too general to be useful for his appeal). Can anyone point me to any resources, online or otherwise (other than directly contacting the DOD, which I have done) that will give details on the 1/7's role and experiences? I would really, really appreciate it (and so would the veteran).

Thank you so much for your time in reading this and (hopefully) responding. Even more so, thank you all for your service and sacrifices for me, my family, and my country.

Erin
