i hear ya bro. but sometimes ya just gotta be a ass, to get heard. i gotta call the va tomorrow, an find out about my mri....numbness, tingling in hands, arms gettin real bad...been fighting with them for almost a yr. thinking about getting a referral like you was talkin about, maybe they could help , something!!!!
tomorrow i"m probably gonna be real ill with them.
i really, reallly hate it when they ask you about whats your problem, they seemed concerned .then they ask you when did this happen, i tell, and its like ....oh, then i get the brushoff, or at least the backburner. hate that !!! hell, we probably did, seen, more terrible stuff then, than whats happening . ours might not have lasted long, but we did alot .

Any illness only takes one time or one incident to cause all this. Length of war is irrelevant. Combat is combat. War is hell. Sorry had to throw that in there. Can you move VA's? I mean there another one you can go too?

haze,

Do you mind if I ask which VA hospital you go to?
I am in KY also and just wondered if you were in the same area as us?

And how did your visit go? I do agree that sometimes you do have to get nasty to be taken seriously and it is exhausting to have to fight for every little thing. Do you have anyone who can come with you to the dr and back you up with the doc and press them!! (a little good cop, bad cop)
That way you are not the jerk, but you still get what you need!!

I know when I went with my husband, he was hesitant to mention some of the symptoms he was having and when I spoke up, the dr ordered a few more tests for him.

yall might have sat next to each other. I agree. I take my wife at every opportunity. She helps with my memory and my symptoms. Plus I think she needs to know. Plus plus, she supports me while I'm there

i go to the va in louisville, also the va clinic in our county. they were good at the eye doc at the va hosiptal. gotta go back a few months to check to see if any change.
still waiying on mri on my neck, everytime that i call the clinic were my doc is at , ihave to wait forever, to even talk to a real person. taking phone calls is"nt one of that clinics high priority list. i"ve been there when the phones would be ringing off the hook, they "re just sitting there talking. va hospital is different, i get a person quick, wish they was closer to me(100 miles away).

I have to tell you all, since I have moved to the Cincinnati area, I am very pleased with the VA hospital, it seems they are a little better then the VA in Dallas which is really strange, but I am seeing a difference, the docs are, well better for some reason, very weird...in Dallas they would send me home with meds and go from there like they didn't care that much, but here in cincy its totally different now I am getting test that I wanted to get done probably 15 years or even 20 years ago, which is helping..and plus since im pretty much losing my mind lately and getting worse, im glad that I have my wife who I married last year, she been really helpful with helping me remember stuff, I just can't remember stuff lately and its driving me nuts....but alas I am happy that I moved here for while, maybe something will finally get done about this stuff that's happening to me....just needed to share that...

xrammy, i know how you feel, would say that its age, but hell i"m only 40. i know that age is a factor but get real. if i hear one more time "its not that bad for a man your age" i"m gonna hurt somebody, or at least call them a few choice words that their momma never heard of. i"m so tired of the B.S.

well, now that you mentioned it.....when i was younger, single me and my cousin used to joke about hooking up at the family reunion. see, she is really my brothers an sisters cousin, on their dads side. not mine. mom was married twice, so really you could say that i could go to the reunion an pick up women. sounds sick? uh? but kinda funny too.
