It wasn't just the females ... there where a lot of soldiers that weren't ready for the desert ... lots ... that's why I say we were pretty lucky.

Luck called apache and air force.. but yes we got lucky many times.

Lucky is my unit passing some abandoned Iraqi tanks near a quarry of some kind in the middle of the desert and shortly afterward, one of those abandoned tanks cranking up and coming up behind us and an M1 being towed by an M88 about a mile out putting a cap in that Iraqi tanks ass saving our asses.

ya, the rear detail people, pissed alot of people off, told we could"nt carry our weapons here, there. a lt. told them if they thought they could take them from us, go for it. course we all looked like hell, dirty, smelling like 4 months without showers, little sleep, wide eyed an alert. and did"nt really give a shit. they pretty much kept away from us while we was at 24th"s rear op. we ate, refueled then went on to the towers.

I remember showing up looking like that. There was a burger stand. We still had our 16's strapped barrel down live ammo, dirty faded torn desert cammo's no hair cut tired and dirty with a smell. We went straight to the front of the line for the burgers. Nobody said nuthin'

Ah, the Wolf-burger trailers?. I remember them being the best nastiest burger I ever had. There was no condiments when I was there but I still ate two of them.
