ya, its been a long time now.... but parts seem like yesterday, kinda nice to look back at our younger yrs....in our memories, we"re all young an will remember each other as that young soldier of so long ago.......
yeah there are some things I remember clearly and some not, I'm just trying to remember that day when they gave me the shots, i am not sure if i can remember the whole tho, just hope really that we weren't some gov project in those shots, which I really think might have happened and we will never know...

your not alone in thinking that. i"ve been thinking thats since the speech we got before leaving the sandbox, redfish... was that speech before or after the bde. had our memorial for the fallen. when they mentioned that it could be yrs. before we ever seen side effects, if any.....

We burned a LOT of information before we left Saudi. Had a huge burn pit dug and we through a loads of shit in there ... camouflage nets, maps, overlays, records, reports, etc. Lots of stuff that could be useful today literally went up in smoke ... most likely the medical waivers along with it.

dunno, stuff blurs together, don"t remember some stuff clearly, like little gaps here an there.
we burned stuff for probably a week before we moved out, 24/7. you name it, it got burned. seem to remember them leaving a cargo container or something behind for the stuff that we could"nt take, but needed later.

Now I remember the cargo container because I had some stuff in it that they would not let us take into battle...I had this rambo knife i bought in Germany that I was going to use during the war just in case...but they would not let us wear it....so we packed it away and never saw it again....

One of our tasks before we left the AO was to dig huge holes and burn and bury everything. Yeah I had a lotta "trophie" stuff which disappeared before we got back. I pretty sure some REMF's got it off the railhead or off the ship.

not sure if anyone heard, a group of soldiers dead and alive are suing some company that was with Haliburton, over the burning over there in Iraq and Afganistan....that the chemicals that were embedding in the smoke has killed and gave many diseases, will have to find article again since I read it on my phone...

That makes me wonder what happen to us and the burning wells over there....wonder if we can still sue?

Don't know. Lots and Lots of stuff is still unknown. Hell, look at how long it took the Vietnam vets to get closure on the Agent Orange thing.

Who knows what we don't know.

Seems that my memory says you can't sue the government over that. I'm with top again. I think they'll wait till enough of us are gone before they come clean. That way they don't have to pay out as much money.

I agree...
BTW my dad was one of those agent orange guys, and yes it took them a very long time for them to say anything or admit anything, now my dad is dwindling away after all those years of suffering and fighting with the VA...

To all of you,

If you are not around to continue the fight, there are plenty of us who will carry the torch. My husband is a Desert Storm vet, his father is a Vietnam Vet, my father is a Korean War vet, both my husbands grandfathers also veterans as well as both of his uncles.

I love my Veterans and I won't be quiet!!!!
