I wish my wife saw it that way, to her I am just being an ass and she don't want to deal with it anymore. SHe does cuz she has nowhere else to go or way to cover any bills and I know she loves me. Sometimes I think its just words but eventually I start really thinking she is serious.

My wife does great. She does at times lose patience with me but that's human. She usually just asks if I have taken my medicine. Most cases, I had not. She inherited this. We got married in 2006. She has been awesome.

Oh my goodness, that is the first thing I ask my husband... Did you take your medicine?? I usually already know the answer because I can tell a diff even if he misses just 1 day. But he also attends AA meetings 3-4 times a week and if he misses a few, it is almost as bad as missing his meds.

The key for me is to make sure I am reaching out and getting the suppport I need which is really the hard part, because I am just so darn tired all the time. And I am sure that is the case for you guys too.

But if I feel balanced and he gets agitated, I can usually just laugh and go about my business, but if I am out of sorts, it can blow up really quickly and turn into a much larger issue than it needs to be.
To be fair, I will admit that I have had 1 or 2 of my own melt downs and once, my husband had the ***** to ask me if I had taken my meds. Oh my stars, my head came unglued and then I busted a gut laughing. I then promised to take mine if he promised to take his. And so here we are, with his/hers scrips. LOL....

DW, that is funny but all too familiar. My wife had to start meds to deal with me. Then we had problems getting her meds right and then mine went outta whack. Round and round, back and forth. Rough time but we made it through. She knows when I aint right. She has the right mix of strength and compassion. She makes me do things but she listens when I'm upset. What a luxury to have a team. I wish it for all of us. I was alone in my first two marriages and alone when I was single. I would not be with you if it was not for my wife Katie. She really is a nurse. I guess she has a patient load at home too.

I am so glad that you and your wife are working on this together. It makes all the difference when the team is working towards the same goal.
It sounds like your wife has a lot of "patients"!! (LOL...could not resist)

I think i saw the same place.... never knew the name of it.. we just called it Death's highway. It went from kewait to bagdad?

I think the Dozer operators in my company were some of the ones that did a few of the mass graves. They came back from work a couple days with that strange stare. They wouldn't talk about it. I'm sure glad i was a grader operator.

I'm on my second marriage... hoping not to screw this one up.

shout out to the 24 infantry division and Colonel Challender. I worked directly for him for a while. Him and his driver in his humv me following in my grader marking roads for Log bases. Stopping in the middle of the desert for lunch. I'll post some memories one of these days... in that other thread.

Yep. You with 24 ID you were there somewhere with us. We initially came in on the road between Nasiriyah and Basra. We followed the highway down and around and stopped between Basra and Safwan. There was a little brick building there with bars on the windows where we made a perimeter. Man what a good time we had there(sarcasm).

I learned today that the highway from Kuwait to Basra was highway 80. The road from Basra to Nasiryiyah was highway 8 (I knew that). A large portions of the pictures were not from highway 80 outta kuwait but from highway 8 outta Basra. I knew there was a lotta carnage up there and thought I recognized a lot of those images but I always thought we were way north of Kuwait so I must be imagining things. I also learned there was a school bus with women and children hit by a hellfire missile. Also an ambulance full of Iraqi's was taken out. I remember that but have always questioned it. Wondering what in the hell would they be doin' there? Haze and I both remember it. I wonder if Tricky recalls it and any more specifics. Anyone from ACR recall?

I hate to admit it but I still want to see the Tomato truck pic with the guy still holding the cig out the window that one of you guys has.

I had one but threw it away in like '92. Tricky may have it or Haze. I have't seen any Haze pix so i don't kow. It was a shake your head site to behold. Everything was casual. Except he did'nt have a head. but he had a load of tomatos

My wife has not a clue. We are dealing with Cultural differences and communication problems since English is not her first language. Then of course there is the me being an ass for no reason days... so I'll have to petition her for sainthood before long cuz she is still putting up with me. I'm still unmedicated as I REALLY don't like having more chemicals in my body. I meditate (not often enough) and try not to drink too often though i get "thirsty" once in a while. I guess maybe i'll have to submit to some antidepressants again. I really need to get back to exercising.. I've been lazy for a while but I'm getting to that age that if I don't get my butt in gear it'll be that much harder to get back in shape. Not to mention I think exercising helps with depression as natural endorphins are uppers.

All I need is a drill instructor to kick my ass and I'm sure I'll find the motivation LOL
