Carmen Milliner - R.I.P

today, i had the honor to be on the rifle squad that fired the 3 vollies in honor of my cousin.he was a korean war vet, silver star, 2 bronze stars,3 purple hearts. it was very humbling, my american legion post has started doing the rifle squad at funerals, playing of taps, and presenting of the flag.
It"s one of the greatest honors that a soldier, vet can do for a veteran and his family.we gave the fired rounds to the family, their hands shaking, and thanking us many times for the doing this for them.we all told them that it was our honor to have done this for them.
if any of you ever have the time to be a part of something like this, do it if you can. it does your soul good, an hopefully when our time comes, somebody will honor us.

I did a few funeral details while on active duty ... very humbling, very proud. I admire your willingness to participate in honoring the fallen.
