Post by Redmaxx » Thu Jun 04, 2009 3:57 pm

LOFTON, Tyrone O'Neal 37, a loving father, brother and friend, departed this life Monday, Mary 14, 2007, from complications of a stroke. He was preceded in death by his dearest mother, Ethel Doris Beecham. He is survived by son, Travon Lofton; sister and nephew, Katina and Bryce Morgan; grand and great-grandmothers, Mary Newton and Amber Gould; aunts, Deborah and Patricia Jackson; dearest friend, Shannon Fife, and a host of other dear relatives and friends. A decorated military war veteran, Tyrone enjoyed being with family and friends, riding his 4-wheeler and watching sports. Those who knew him know that he would not want us to come in sorrow at his passing, but in celebration of his life. Viewing will be held from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2007, in the JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 2425 North Limestone Street, Springfield, Ohio 45503, with his celebration beginning at 4 p.m.

He was in the US Army with me during the Storm. We spent many nights on guard duty together.

I am sorry for your loss. I always hate hearing about fellow vets that have passed.

I read somewhere that Desert Storm Veterans are passing away at a faster rate than other era veterans. I think that it is due to there being fewer of us.

That and maybe the suicide rate. Then theres also the fellow vets suffering from PTSD and depression going out and acting on their thoughts and nightmares and getting either taken out by the police or themselves instead of the cops.
