Do you know what it is for?

Go in with some info, find out what it's for and you could go in with a checklist of what they are going to cover.

It helps ... but you gotta know before you go.

Here is a link to all of the worksheets the VA docs are supposed to use to evaluate your disabilities during your C&P exam:

http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/21/Benefits/exams/index.htm

Be familiar with the worksheet for your specific condition ... it really helps ... just like any other test.

filling out the paperwork that the va sent me to tell about incidents that happened for ptsd, and others. never filled one of these out. i know i gotta tell a story of sorts, and to be pretty specific on things. do i need to also tell why i think i have this, and how i think its related to my service?
having a hard time getting what i"m thinking on paper.

The incident form or the stressor letter? The letter needs you before the war, what happened in the war and how you are after. The incident form needs specif incidents from the war.

Went to the V.A. after 8 mos. for C.&P. Had two apt.on the same day. It took about 30 min. Have a apt. on Sat. at 1:30 . They sent a letter and another one cert. mail. The V.A. in Atl. is under inv. bt the I.G. which is normal. It looks like they have doctor for every symptom.

My apologies that you have to deal with Atlanta.

My first time there was around '94. I left my house three hours early to go for my appointment. I got lost. I stopped and got directions several times. I arrived at the VA 30 minutes late. After sitting in the lobby for 2 hours, I asked the receptionist about it. She said oh, your appointment was cancelled. I asked why. She said I was more than 20 minutes late and that gave them the right to cancel my appointment. I had waited six months for the damn appointment. So I did what came natural. I threw a chair, cleaned the lady's desk off onto the floor and was escorted of campus by the cops.

I called and wrote my congressman. Called the news station. The Atlanta VA director called me and invited me back.

I went back and was seen. I had been seen at the VA in Waco Texas in '92. I was diagnosed then with PTSD. I told the PA in Atlanta. He told me our war was too short. I could not possibly have PTSD. He asked what else. I told him about my back and neck problems. They scheduled me an appointment for an MRI 6 months later.

When I arrived 6 months later for my appointment, I was told it had been cancelled. I asked what the hell? She said you got a new doctor 3 months ago. He looked at my chart and said I didn't need an MRI. There was nothing wrong with me. I was pissed again. This new f' ing has never even seen me. How the hell does he know anything? They escorted me off the property again.

I told them I would never step foot in another VAMC again. And I didn't until 2009 when the cops took me there. But, that's another story.

I would wish the Atlanta VA on nobody.

The V.A. in Atl. is under inv. for not providing vets with prop. mental health treatment. 3 requested help and got lost in the system and committed suicide. A small group of senators are there today. This comes after a report of info. theft by a emp. So I went to my final test (blood) it took 20 min. I found one thing during the test. It appears that the med. per. like to help you . I claimed a bad memory (short term). I had to draw clock showing 10:10. There was a clock showing this time on the table as I entered the room. I also was told a story. Jack and Jill were married and moved to Chicago. She was a stock broker and they had 3 kids. I was asked the name of the female in the story. By accident I said Jack. The doc. said you mean Jill. I said yes. So did he write don't what I said ? Or what I meant. Then he asked what city did them move to. I said Calif. He then said you mean Chicago. Of course that is what I meant. There is only choices. When I took the breath test. I was told to breath normal. Then told when to inhale and exhale. This hade the graph look normal. As of posed to all over the place. Some of the prob. I stated I had were not checked. But I was told the test were over. I read the the govt was holding back bonus , due to the back log of cases. I think they are about to suddenly increase overnight .
