Filed claim in Sept. 07 for migraines, joint pain and bursitis in shoulder. Was denied on all in early 08, appealed and just had a C&P exam for migraine in April 2010. Any Gulf War vets have any advice or info on timeframe that I am looking at. Thanks in advance.

Read, read, and read some more. Do the research on what makes a 'good claim' and get a Service officer to represent you.

The VA has a HUGE backlog ... no tellin' when you'll hear something.

Rule of thumb in my family is 1 year after they receive your claim until there is resolution.

My claims are in review for upgrades on all plus I have finally put in for PTSD. My SO told me that the average now is 8 months or more. Figure on a year.

The best thing one can do when engaging with the VA is be armed with knowledge. This site has some good knowledge posted on it and some good personal experience about using that knowledge.

Good luck to all in their particular quest.

tops right, read up as much as you can, don"t think something you think is minor to you is minor. if you have a question for us , just ask many of us have been/ going through similar things .just holler at us .......
side note: i think its REALLY great that after almost 20 yrs, later, we"re still watching each others back, but sad also that we have to cause the gov. in some cases do"nt want to. either way brothers till the end, we never forget one of our own.

there"s plenty to read up on here on this site. i think that hearing from fellow vets, and their(shall we say saga), stories, va trouble, work and everyday lives really does us all good, the good times as well as the bad. reminds us that we"re not alone out there, at times that knowlodge that others are having the same or similar problems and they keep going, keeps me going at the low parts of my life, but also brightens my day alot a able just to talk with all of ya"ll. take care

A great deal of frustration today. It is crazy that the VA expects all this paperwork and documentation to be found, kept up with, signed, filed and or maintained by me. I can barely focus on anything, can't remember nuthin', can't tolerate much, can't find anything, can't tolerate people much, can't get motivated and can't follow directions well. My poor wife.
