Thank you haze, that means alot to me. I need the extra pat on the back now and then to remind me I'm doing the right thing.

Glad it was a positive experience. Here are some links that you may find helpful:

Gulf War Registry Exam Protocol:
http://www1.va.gov/gulfwar/docs/GulfWarManual.DOC

Disability Examination Worksheets:
http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/21/Benefits/exams/index.htm

Schedule for Rating Disabilities:
http://www.warms.vba.va.gov/bookc.html

War Related Injury and Illness Study Center (WRIISC) Information:
http://www.warrelatedillness.va.gov/wri ... ferral.asp

I've used most of these more than once in attempting to understand what to expect from the VA in terms of compensation, ratings, procedures, and such. It is also very valuable information to keep tabs on happenings; as a sanity check more than anything.

Thanks redfish, FA1SGret!! You guys have been an incredible source of info. and encouragement.

But, I have yet to find any info on where to find my sanity...
Please let me know if you see it; it has been missing for many years.

Having my own issues I may not be an authority. However, having my own issues, I may be an authority. This post has caused me great thought. Mostly because the insanity I have caused my wife. After starting back to the VA and learning to let her in, we have grown much closer. Here again are some thoughts and opinions not worth a cup of coffee but possibly thought provoking.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

- Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955), (attributed)

You guys have recently started back to the VA so maybe you have broken the circle of repetition.

"This thing that I call living is just being satisfied knowing I've got no one left to blame"

-Gordon Lightfoot.

“Sometimes a breakdown can be the beginning of a kind of breakthrough, a way of living in advance through a trauma that prepares you for a future of radical transformation.”

Cherrie Moraga

Maybe the worm is getting ready to turn for you and yours.

There is no great genius without some touch of madness.
- Seneca (5 BC - 65 AD), Epistles

We are only given a slight amount of insanity, you mustn't lose it.
-Robin Williams

I wish all of us peace. I hope others chime in on this. I think sanity or "life without negative harmful chaos" comes with inner peace, inner comfort and external understanding. How to obtain that is the journey. Some journeys are smoother than others.

"Don't worry be happy"

My sanity is held hostage right now by my teenagers. I just pray it is able to hold on a few more years.
