How do I go about testing for PTSD?

Post by dsvet1991 » Sat Jul 18, 2009 1:49 pm

I went to the VA several years ago and all they did was give me the run around and prescribe some medicines. They seemed like they did not care at all.

GO BACK AGAIN. There have been A LOT of changes in the VA process. You will be welcomed in a better way now than you were then. The VA has come under a lot of fire over the years for the way they handled a lot of vets who needed the help but were not getting it. Stop in again and see them. If nothing else, go for your yearly physicals and talk with Mental Health again. Best of luck.

Going back tomorrow brother. Thanks for the encouragement. I even found my pictures of me in combat. That should help.

http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/21/Benefits/exams/index.htm

This is a worksheet the doctors 'should' use for your C&P Exam ... when you file a claim, the VBA will use this format to evaluate and rate your disability.

Familiarize yourself with it so you know what the doctors will cover in the exam.
