We had a lot of M1s with plow and rakes on them, My brigade commander was using the plows to fill in some trenches full of Iraqi soldiers with small arms who refused to accept the fact that AK's don't phase M1s. We estimated 100's and 100's if not thousands of Iraqi soldeirs died that way. I remember our M1's pumping HE rounds into bunkers that had small arms coming out of them at the tanks, in some cases driving the M1's onto the bunkers and collapsing them therefore killing those inside.

Those who chose not to fight were the lucky ones.

I've read some accounts of that. We found it easier to push with dozers, quicker. Some shooting but very little by comparison. We did bury some. We also had ACE's. They were faster than dozers but not as strong. WE had a lot of rocks up where we crossed. Kept f'ing up the rakes. Ended up takin' em off just before cross. Decide to use the ACE's and the dozers. On the dozers we had welded one inch plate steel all around the driver except for a slot to see. Not very re-assuring though. The thought was: make it quick.

nice pics! haha tricky prob has a few choice words for ya.lol. the ace"s were alot faster, but dozers had the power. i remember they rushed them over and the driver from ft. knox .fresh out on ait. no guns, by yourself...lonely. i still remember that scared kid (18), i was 20, but i"d been in the army for a few yrs. him a few months. i"d been in -country a few months, him a few days. we all tried to make him feel like one of us as best as we could to a extent. can"t remember his name for the life of me. always wondered about that kid, what ever happened to him.

We never did get those rakes to work. Kept bending. We trashed 'em before we even moved up north. We used the dozers with the steel plates welded around the ROPS. I remember feeling the oh s%&# when they welded those plates on with a little slot for you to look out. We knew then that can't be good.
