I hated the damn wash rack ... nasty water, nasty food, hot during the day and cold at night ... I stayed on the wash rack for neary 48 hours ... either in line or actually washing ... It had to be done ... but like most everything else in the desert my chain of command &*#Y%(*# it up bad ...

I know all to well about the wash racks. I was one of the inspectors sending every one home. We sent home most of the theatre, then got to watch the 4th of July parades, while we were still in the Gulf. All while the news was saying that all the "original troops" were home; we we activated just before Storm and was there for the start of ground war.
