Your Gulf War Unit: HHC 1/41 Infantry S-2 Section
I served with HHC 1/41 Infantry during the Desert Shield / Desert Storm War. I was SFC Jerry L. Gentry then and the TC of the S-2's M577 Command Tracked Vehicle(Stalwart-2India). LTC Hillman(Stalwart-6) was the Battalion Commander, CSM Tomms was the Battalion Command Sergeant Major. I speant most of the time out of the TOC when the unit was not moving, with the troops providing security. So in essence, when we were in a stationary position,.. we, the security troops was digging in on the perimeter, and when we were moving, I was the Vehicle's TC.
Here is a small video that is found on the web depicting the fateful scean of an Apachy Gunship mis-identifying an M-2 Bradley Scout vehicle and an M-113 Personell Carrier. The Scout vehicle was commander by SFC Miller, and the 2 Friendly fire killed personnel came from his vehicle. The M-113 vehicle was being used as a GCR Vehicle (Ground Survelliance Vehicle).
The LTC "GunFighter-6" piloting his Chopper was thinking more about accquiring enemy kills then properly identifying who was who on the battlefield. That to the lost of the First American Combat Kills,... our own soldiers. Its sad, but its history too. Those boys did not die in vain and they are still remembered today. Although I retired after 22 years active duty in the US ARMY INFANTRY,... I swear,... I still miss it. Here is the web site for the video: ... re=related

Something is wrong with the site. It won't let you upload pix any more. That was one tough video to watch. I do appreciate you posting though. Thanx

Feels like it happened yesterday. SFC Gentry, if you still check in on this site, do you know how to get a hold of SPC Khiem Ta?
