Post by rodneyw71 » Sun May 07, 2006 2:51 pm

I was seeing who on here does any fishing. I caught 2 Lg. Mouth on friday, on night crawler and went this morning and caught 3 on power bait blue worm.

What are you catching, and what are you using, and where are you fishing. :)

OK I have to be the smart aleck...

I use a fishing pole, I catch fish and I normally fish in a lake.

Sorry it was so calling for a smartaleck remark and I am so good at being one.

Liz :D

:) I guess I should have worded it differently. Isn't Minnesota the state with 10,000 lakes. An outdoor paradise.

Yea it is the state of 10,000 lakes and I know the best spots. I go with the kids to fish and we hit one lake last summer and came home in an hour and had a 5 gal bucket full of sunfish. Gotta love it here.

It's getting hard to find anywhere to go around here, nobody will let you on their property. The game preserves are pretty much out fished, but my dad has a huge pond behind his house but it gets boring there.

I looked on the map and you guys are way up in the great white north, the farthest I've ever been is Minneapolis. I don't know if I could talk the family into a fishing vacation or not, they for some reason want to go back to Florida, I hate it there it's to hot for me.

Yep its about an hour from Canada. :D But fishing is great up here. There are alot of things to do here too...we have animal land which is great you can feed deer, bears, cats, fish, that kind of thing. There is shopping but not as much as the cities. County Fairs, parades for almost everything, the college is up here too. Just let me know if you plan on coming up this way we will find things for the family to do. They might like it more than Flordia...but its not as warm and more mosquitos!! LOL

Probably the only time I'll ever get to go on a fishing vacation is when pigs fly. :D

Tell the wife that you want to go on a fishing vacation for your fathers day present. LOL! In all seriousness tell her you want to go to Duluth...thats 2 hours from Bemidji...they have Glensheen mansion(said to be haunted), omimax theatre, mn fish aquariaum, 2 harbors isnt that far, gooseberry falls is wonderful. I would look up Duluth and surrounding areas and see what you find. The mansion is really beautiful...the owner was murdered there along with her nurse...also under Cogdon murders. Its on alot of websites about hauntings. Just a fyi.

The bad thing about taking the family on a fishing trip is that I am constantly making sure everybody is entertained, there for I usually go by myself or with my brothers. It sounds selfish but I can't fish if I'm putting everybody elses worm on every time it falls off.

My favorite top water bait is the Hoola Popper, I have caught so many bass on that lure.
