Veteran plates

Post by rodneyw71 » Wed Apr 05, 2006 9:35 pm

I live in Indiana and we have a license plate, it's the hoosier veteran plate and you can only get them if you were a veteran. It costs $15 extra and I have them on both of my cars. I was wondering if any other state offers them. I see alot of out of state cars but never any veteran plates. The extra money goes to the hoosier veteran home, so it is a good cause. They also have a plate for Purple heart, P.O.W., D.A.V.. I was just curious. Thanks.

I was in the license branch, and they don't offer it. Just the Veteran plate, Indiana has more specialty plates than any other state I've seen.

Heck if I'd known you live in New York I wouldn't have made a wise crack like that.

In case anyone is interested, I got this email yeterday and in fact ordered 2 myself yesterday. They aren't plates but rather to plate border that holds the plate onto the car. This guy is a DS1 vet himself and figured I would support another DS veterans business while also getting plates with my unit and DS Combat Vet listed on it.

Robert--
Hello, I manufacture Custom Vehicle License Frames especially for Military Veterans. For example, I can make a custom frame that the top states, ”ALPHA CO. 6/6 INFANTRY" and the bottom states, “US ARMY VETERAN”. My frames are a great bargain and they look great… and you don’t have to make your payment until after they arrive! There is a link below to my website so you can view images of the frames. These frames make great gifts for your old veteran buddies! These frames are CUSTOM... we put the text on the frame exactly as YOU specify with your online order.

These frames are a great way for veterans to get well deserved recognition and let America know that there are proud Veterans in our communities! We're not limited to military titles with our custom frames, so we can also make them to reflect your business or hobby interests.

If you're wondering if this is a legitimate offer… It can't be any easier than this: JUST GO THE WEBSITE AND ORDER AND I WILL STICK THE FRAMES IN THE MAIL THE DAY I GET YOUR ORDER. Then you can mail a check, money order or cash to me once it arrives! Simply reply to this email to have a set shipped today.

The plate frames are cool, I didn't see any Airforce Desert storm frames though. Maybe he could custom make one.

Guess I am going to wait a bit on the plates. Then I think that this summer I will see about getting them.

Veteran Plates

In New Mexico, we have different plates for each service and then they will print what war you were in. Mine says Desert Storm. These cost $15 extra. If you are disabled, then you get free DV plates with your war on them. We even have Desert Storm DV plates for motorcycles. The state just came out with "Patriot" plates so the civilians can support the troops.

I got my plate borders the next day after I ordered them. They are already on my trucks and look great with my US Army plates.

Now if Florida only did the "Specific" war plates too.
