I had no idea that this site existed, a very good idea especially since I don't know hardly anyone whom served in the gulf. I am hoping to locate my fellow paratroopers whom served in the Gulf War from August 1990-April 1991. I was with the 1/325th A.I.R. Charlie Company, 2nd platoon, 82nd airborne division, specialist Kern from Idaho. I will be out of town starting today until the 14th of August backpacking in the mountains of Idaho if anyone replies back, I will reply back when I get back on the 14th. Have a nice day.

Welcome to the forms, hope have good luck finding your buddy. I suggest you also look around Military.com also.

Have fun with the backpacking, sounds fun but these old bones probably couldn't do it these days.

Kieva67,
Good to hear from a fellow paratrooper. I was in Delta 3/504 P.I.R. I was there from 89-93. Served in Panama in 89-90 and Desert Shield/Storm 90-91. I'm not on here often but I'll check back to see if you respond. Take care.

Hey there Creepster,
Thanks for the reply back. We missed out on Panama which was a bummer, heard that wasn't too easy down there either. I don't know about you, but ever since the Gulf War ended and been back home I have had older vets become critical of us and that our war wasn't much of a war and that I don't deserve my CIB. I agree in some small ways, however we still went and did what we had to do. I still keep in touch with one buddy from Bragg, he missed out on the war. Good to hear from you, I am not on here very often either, but I will try to check back some as well. Have a good night.

Kieva67,
Yeah I know the guys now that deploy 5 and 6 times it has to take a toll on ya. I really enjoyed Panama. My Unit was sent there for Jungle School and after two weeks we Spear headed the invasion. We were only there a couple months. In and out which is what were designed for. Rapid Deployment. Not year in and year out. I've also heard people say that Desert Shield /Storm wasn't a real war. Those are also the people who weren't there. It's easy to have an opinion from your couch. I don't care if you go fight for a week. When the bullets are flying past you it sure does seem real. In Saudi we went up against the Republican Guard. We did "Chase " the war a lot. Then we found it. ha! My unit was there about a year. And it was a loooong year. How was the backpacking trip? I try and go backpacking when I can. Something about the peace and solidarity of being out in the open does the mind a lot of good. I have a KLR650 Dual sport motorcycle that I ride. I just did a ride up to Big Bend and rode along the Rio Grande along the Mexico Border. I usually ride and camp by myself. My wife and friends think I'm crazy for going alone. Take care Brother, Hope to hear from you again. What are you doing since you got out?
