Sounds like a handful ... you have the answers? Know what to do next? You got things under control?

I'm being serious ... don't let it get to ya ... work through it.

I had to go out of work trick. I went less and less and less and then out. Same reasons as you. Memory, anxiety, anger...etc I would go and hide in places at work to cool down and get away. I hate they lost your stuff. Not computerized? I hope some peace finds ya soon brother.

work is rough at times, everyday i have to make myself go. i"d prob already done quit if it wasn"t for my family. everyday i tell myself to just keep yourself in check today. i grew up with my boss, so that helps, but we still clash everyday or so. the other day the plant manger came up behind me, an grabbed my shoulder, i didn"t know he was behind me. i was wiring a control panel, pretty occuiped with that and just plainly did"nt see him. anyway, when he did that , it startled me bad, my reaction was to come around with that screwdriver in my hand, i stopped it about 6 inches from his throat. scared the shit out of him. said to him, don"t f***en never, never do that. pissed him off when i told him that the next time he does that , i might not stop in time and he would be dead. everybody knows that i"m really jumpy, the boss had to explain a few things to him, i really did"nt give a shit. its my world, tread lightly when coming up behind me....

Yea, I do love that patch, I'm OK, just working a few days a week. I stopped most of my medication to try and work for a while. Waiting for the VA to make a decision, i doubt I get rated, I just didn't have my stuff together. Well anyway, tried calling you Saturday, I'll try again sometime.

Donn't forget guys, there are Veteran Service Officers out there who can help a lot with your filing. They are there to help so you don't forget anything and get things pushed through when you can't. I have a great guy from the VFW. And the best thing is, it's FREE!

Service Officers are damn near essential ... but interview them, talk with them, evaluate them before you appoint them as your representative. Once you sign them up you are stuck with them for the duration of your claim.

Personal experience ... I trusted a DAV National Service Officer to represent me and it's been very dissappointing and frustrating. I just dropped all my appeals so I could get rid of him and get a better service officer. I've got other claims that need to be filed, but I've been waiting to get a better service officer before doing so. It's a long story ... the short of it ... MY representative was more attentive to the VA and DAV than me ... very dissappointing!

I hesitate to post this because I don't want to discourage anyone from appointing a representative ... just be diligent ... do your homework ... find one that suits you ... there are many to choose from.

Get a service officer and let them get your shit together.

Time is NOT on your side.

Top, I had a DAV VSO and she turned out to be a dud as well but I called the VFW and they said that I could switch to them even though I am in mid-stream with my claim. The new Power of Attorney you sign supersedes any others that were previous.

I asked the VFW guy a lot oof questions that I didn't know to ask the first time, what a difference. I came right out and asked 'What are you going to do for me and how hard are you willing to fight?' The way I look at it is that we have been fighting for the past 20 years and I want someone who is going to be in the foxhole with and will be my back.

Don't feel that you can't grill these folks (respectfully) and if you don't like the answers, move on.

Top is absolutely right, DO NOT WAIT! There are people to help you get your s--- together.
