I have been running from PTSD for a long time. A month ago I started going to the VET center for help. They said I should have come along time ago. You all know as a man you say just deal with it, well I tried and I am not sure if it is the 20 that has me screwed up or what but I am getting help now.

stick to your guns, friend of mine once said war is hell, but dealing with the VA is like climbing out of the pits of hell and not getting burned.

Bakaruda,
It isn't just men who try to tough it out and tell themselves to 'deal with it'. We were all trained the same, men and women, to be tough and deal with ever situatioin that comes up and never give in. Many of us have been in denial for a good part of the last 20 years but the VA didn't help with their denials of PTSD for those few who tried to claim it.

We are all in the same boat and are battling the same battle. Take comfort in knowing that you are not alone and that you have friends here to help you through those tough times. We all lean on each other and support each other.

Best wishes,
Little Sis,

Say Ya'all. I'm surprised I haven't found this site before. My unit was Bravo Btry Task Force 8-43 ADA VII CORPS. Being Patriot -that never fired one missile- I followed all you buggars into Iraq for the ground war. The farthest north I traveled was on April 11, 1990 at Abu Ghar (called 'ruins' on our 1,000,000 map) and is 47 km 181 deg south of the ziggurat -at ancient Ur.
At present I am in the library at Sheridan, Wyoming VAMC. I got PTSD issues but am doing ok, about four-by.
In the last years I've turned into a little bit of a writer and one of these days will post some stories. Funny, happy, sad, wierd. I wonder if to post stories that the 'powers that be' don't want the public to know??? Any thoughts?
Take care ya'all and stay out of trouble, ya'hear?

Could be both. Hafar Al Batan for sure and LB Neligan in January. Anybody remember the heavy fog the morning of the ground war?
