Brother Up In Heaven - Slide/Image/Video

Post by peaces » Sun Jun 27, 2010 8:39 pm

Hi All,

I have wanted to pursue this project for 15 years now and decided to start the discovery process. I pray that this forum will be a good place to start.

In 1994 Alan Parsons produced a song written by his close friend Ian Bairnson intitled Brother Up In heaven. Since I am new to this forum and I have no personal ties to Desert Storm I will provide all of the lyrics below. The song is absolutely incredible and I have no understanding why it has not been used thousands of times to honor those pilots who have given their lives.

This particular song was written for a pilot that was lost in Desert storm.

I would like to take the song and create a video that will be provided to YouTube and other outlets as well as my own websites to honor those who have gone before us.

I am not sure if the video will be only about one real family where the words of the song make sense or if I need to broaden the video to many pilots who we lost that it fits.

The need for me is images and stories/information of pilots we lost in Desert Storm to meet the words of the song.

So I am looking for family members who would be willing to work with me as to providing information and mainly images that I can use of their child or sibling who they lost and enough information so I get the aircraft accurate in the video. It would be incredible to find a brother who lost his brother to make this film and match up with the song.

I can use images or video or both in my environment.

If this was the wrong place to start my quest... please accept my apologies... then guide me where I might go to complete my project.

OH... I am 52... I happened to have fallen in a year when I was 18 that there was no requirement to even register... however, my respect for those who have and continue to fight for our freedom is ever present and I offer my honor.

"Brother Up In Heaven"

A boy flies for freedom
But dies for the peace
In the clouds, he waits for an answer
But there's no release

It's strange here without you
And it's so hard to see
So brother up in heaven
Please wait up for me

Oh brother up in heaven
Please wait up for me

I still see his shadow
His laugh lingers on
When I dream, we're all back together
When I wake, he's gone
It's strange here without you
This was not meant to be
So brother up in heaven
Please wait up for me

And though we try to change the world
A flower when it's cut will surely die
So why do men with so much hate
Destroy what they cannot create
While we all stand by

We will look back in anger
But you helped us to see
So brother up in heaven
Please wait up for me

Oh brother up in heaven
Please wait up for me

Wow... never thought I'd find such immaturity in a place like this. I'll leave and go try to honor our heroes somewhere else. Sorry for taking a chance on your forum and using your bandwidth.

Peaces, pay no attention to him if you are serious. We have had a very bad problem with people spamming the boardsover the last couple of weeks and he may have taken it that way. Eveyone wishes to honor our fallen in their own way and if you are serious about your way then I wish you the best.
