OK for those that asked about the book, it is now launched. You can find it on: www.thomastfields.com

It is available today from the publisher and should be on Amazon in a couple of weeks. Here is the dedication at the front of the book.

"To the men and women from every nation who served so proudly in Operation Desert Storm, the men and women of ARAMCO that kept the oil flowing to the free world, my wife and family, and a special dedication to Loren Schoenholtz and the Dhahran Clippers."

I hope it will come out in an audio book eventually. I have trouble reading and remembering what I read and where I left off. My level of concetration is getting worse. I do better with audio books. I hope to read it, or listen to it eventually.

Congratulation and thank you for remembering us. So many times I feel that we have been forgotten....

You got it sis and to make it special it wil be home made muscadine. Straight from the vines of the deep south forests.

And one other thing to remember sis: when you turn forty there is no longer such a thing as chronological age, it then simply becomes a state of mind.

Know what you are talking about Redfish. When in Saudi we would make our own alcohol. Had some very sophisticated stills. We would make our own mash out of sugar and yeast and then run it through the still. The really good stuff was run 3 times and when you took a spoonful and light it the stuff would burn with a beautiful blue flame and leave no residue on the spoon. Tested out at 198 proof. (2 proof = 1%). Very little effect the next morning. It was crystal clear and would be served like gin or vodka. Some guys would bring back Jack Daniels wood chips and you would put that in a gallon jug with the clear and in 30 days you would have bourbon. Now that was some smooth stuff.

Y'all were much more sophisticated than us. We had a round orange igloo cooler, some grape juice from the mess tent and some yeast from the local store with sugar. Ferment it for a week and bingo, hooch. Be sure to release the pressure in the cooler daily ( it will explode.. :) ). Nasty stuff but very potent. Haze you recall doin it?

LOL. Redfish in times of needs we also went that route plus non-alcoholic beer with a little yeast goes a long way also. Have a good week everyone and as a little countdown, 20 years ago the 82nd Airborne came in on the 8th. Stormin Norman and Cheney had met with and received permission to land the troops. SEALS had landed but am unsure if they were at their final base at Half Moon Bay. Routes were probably being picked out to get troops and supplies from Dammam to the Abu Hadraiya Highway. Bees eventually built a road across the desert. On the 9th ARAMCO evacuated all the dependents. Other companies had all ready done so earlier.
