I have my days, more often than they used to be where I wonder if I should just go ahead and do it but then I start thinking to myself what good that will do. Sure it will hurt my wife back but it will also hurt my kids more...and it will hurt me more too cuz I will then be giving up her and my kids which are the most important things in the world to me no matter how pissed off I am at her. I have managed to retain my anger over the last 6-7 years much much more than before that. The problem with that is that while keeping it bottled up within keeps me from giving her a much deserved reality check, its tearing me up inside too.

I hear ya. I've come to know the symptoms of depression and PTSD quite well. The thoughts, the anger, the loneliness. I want so bad to just burst out, but even when I do it just aint enough.

I'm re-engaging with the VA Behavioral Health folks ... made an appointment last week because I've recognized that I am slipping back into habits of avoidance and angry outbursts.

Hang tough folks ... that's the best we can do ... for us and everybody around us.

how true you are!! when you realize that you need help, its time to seek it out. i'm trying to do that now. taken me a long time now. but its pretty much come down to getting help or chance of losing my family, i could"nt handle that. i"ve learned that if you need help..get it. if not just for you, its also for your family, friends, and those around you.

I agree with everyone it took at least 8 years to get some help after the war all I did was drink and go crazy..hell i thought about it too...had a special bullet too...but hell I had no clue why I kept going, finally after all those years I got help, mind you there are days when I do feel down and out, like now its tough right now, just graduated college and no one is damm hiring anywhere. so weird...too.. but I am still trying..and hanging in there...Keep your head up everyone I am sure there are going to be better days one day...

I don't know if I believe that, that's more than 1500 a year ... not saying it is false, but that seems like a lot ... of course 1 is too many.
