kuwait liberation medal

Post by haze » Fri Mar 19, 2010 9:38 am

just wondering if anybody that was discharged before 1995 recieved the medal? kuwait offered it to all service members in the gulf war in 1994. the U.S. accepted it in 1995.

Yes. I requested a replacement set of medals and they sent it to me with a DD-215 to show that I am authorized to have it.

yes, redfish, you should do this also, go to the web site that tricky mentioned and put in for it.i did yesterday.you"ll have to print out a form to sign an mail in though. i ran across a article about them on the web about two yrs. ago,dod said that ,i think there was still over 100 thousand medals that had"nt been awarded yet as of that date.

np, i think its just sad that the vets have to do this themselves, i don"t think the gov. even tried to contact the vets about it. i never got a letter or nuttin. had"nt been for the web , i"d prob never known. but vets allways have taken care an watched out for each other. thats one of the things about being in this elite brotherhood is all about.

Dang, I already had a chestful, gonna have to look this one up. I think half the reason a particular Sargent Major in Germany wouldn't send me to the board was because my class-A's looked better. I agree it's sad we find out this way... maybe to do with Clinton in charge in '95? He's half the reason I got out.

I have not gotten either medal. I was TDY from my unit at Fort Carson and there was no one looking out for us. I was one of 36 that were hand picked to go over there from my unit. When we got back we were the SGT Majors boys, but when I was discharged I was told I didn't go over there. When I showed the dude the orders that sent me and for the ARCOM medal that I received while over there he tells me I must not have come back.
