I was wondering if I apply for unemployablity with the VA, will they continue to work on my PTSD claim or will they drop it. Also, I am drawing unemployment checks, can I apply for Social Security Disablity while I am drawing? Maybe someone can help me with my questions, we are all brothers here.

The answer my friend is blowing in.... sorry. My understanding is yes to all. 70% with unemployability will be paid at 100% rate. You should apply immediately for SSDI. It is separate. The paperwork is about the same. Google how to apply for social security due to disability. Your VA rep can help. Hang tough brother. Some of us are and have gone done that same road. Glad you got a good thing in Charlotte.

My meds are tough. Hard to equalize. I'm finding that Buspar alone seems best.

Naw. My VA mental health doc was gonna help with mine if I needed it but I'm not at that point...yet..

Research it brother. Ask others as well. I may not be as learned as others.

My advise from personal experience:

Get an attorney ... the Social Security Administration is worse than the VA. My claim was denied, then I got an attorney who appealed it and it was approved ... almost 3 years from the my initial claim date.

Do not go to the SSA office, do not apply online, do not do it yourself ... get an attorney to file your claim from start to finish. Again, there are many reputable attorneys that won't charge you anything unless your claim is approved.

So good luck.

Sounds like one hell of a plan ... sit down by the pond with a pole in the water, a bottle of homemade wine, a .22 for the turtles, a fire ... and some good home grown tunes.

I'm in kinda the same boat xrammyx. I've gone down but still managing part time work. Waiting on the VA. The evaluation doc for C&P said he would totally recommend disabled and unemployable but I'm managing part time. He said he would guess 70%. In the meantime, here I sit.

im at the beginning of mine, not sure what they are going to do actually...but i suspect 70 also...its a tough road with the VA, it was even tougher back 90's, at least its a little better today, hell the outpatient clinic calls once a year to make sure I get yearly check up, LOL... but still make my appointments when I need them...
I just don't think I can work right now with everything going on...

it (the va) does seem better than it was back then. but its still got aways to go. seems that the ones that really need help, don"t get as much as the ones that are"nt as bad off as them (mentally & physically). guess thats the gov.....red tape, red tape. somethings never change.....
good luck with the va, its a long bumpy road,,,let us know on your progress.
