AR owners?

Post by Redleg13f2h » Thu Oct 29, 2009 12:18 am

So who thought they could care less if they every picked up one of those clunky things again, and ended up buying one with this election scare anyway?

Had picked up a Rock Rover, stripped lower reciever before the election. Waited toil the demand tapered out, then picked up a CMMG 14.7" M4 upper a little while ago. Still had a few left over mags and other accessories. Thinking of getting either an ACOG or tri-power optics, then might build up a 6.8 SPC.

I wish I could spare the coin to buy something like that. Wife got laid off in June and its all I can do to keep up now.

Sorry to hear about your wife's layoff. I see it and hear about it locally and on the news, but doesn't seem so bad here. Of course I live in a pretty rural area, so the economy around me has always been lacking ... no major employers, just small farms and odd jobs.

Sorry to hear it too. It's all around us here in Michigan.

I built mine up piece by piece. Doesn't bite the pocket so much that way, and you save on the federal excise tax placed on purchaseing a complete gun. ($150ish)

Thanks, I hope it turns aroound soon. Kids X-Mas this year will definately show the lack of cash in the pocket this time around but hey, when your 5 and 7, anything is cool at Xmas time.

We have 3 major empoyers here on the East Coast of Central Florida, Kennedy Space Center, SeaRay Boats, and Harris Corporation (a military contractor). With the end of the Shuttle program coming up, there have been many layoffs and force retirements on the space center, with the economy like it is I guess not many people are buying $1m+ boats so SeaRay is laying off here and there and doing forced furloughs for a month at a time. Harris Corporation lays off here and there as 1 military contract ends before another is picked up.

Of course all the mom & pop places suffer the most as everyone is trying to save a buck here and there.

I sure hope Nobama really can fix it all.....Image......yea right !

I have worked in the health care field for about 12 years now and this is the first time I have seen it impact the hospitals as much as it has. We had layoffs and cutbacks this year of clinical employees and that is the first time I've seen that. They cut my hours and my wife's hours. We are hoping for a better year next year. Santa's bag is a little light this year. My youngest two are 9 mos. and 3 so they won't really notice but my 17 year old and 15 year old have noticed. But, alas, this to shall pass. It did'nt come in time to prevent re-financing and in house my own house cutbacks.

Just remember it could be worse ... you could be in the desert and your families fending for themselves.

Picked up a AR - 15 lower at a gun show in Atl. It was a C 3 Defense made in Ga. Cosr about $ 150. Part are too high now, with this ban talk. At Mainstreet Guns And range (MAINSTREETFIREARMS.com) they claim to have some kits around.
