What can we do to get more participation?
I am sad to see the "regulars" not being very regular anymore. I for one know that I am guilty. I was gone for almost a year due to the requirments of being the Post Commander at my VFW Post. I thought that maybe we can get some feedback or suggestions on ways to get our "regulars" back and/or get some new "regulars." Please post whatever you think will help. I will put some thought into it as well and I will be posting my thoughts here soon.

I like the forum, but I've pretty much said everything that I wanted to say, and now think I sound like a broken record ... so I don't visit as much anymore. I know this doesn't help much, but it is what it is.

I am kind of in the same boat. I try to think up new things to say on here but I can't always do it. I am on here pretty much everyday but I just don't post anything.

I would really hate to see this site go away. Not saying that it will but if there is nobody hear anymore I can't see Scott keeping it going.

Well I'm kind of a noob but I can hang around until things get cooking again. I'll see if I can get some friends to come over also.

Re: What can we do to get more participation?
I have posted this forum on my Units page at Military.com also, But it doesn't see much action there. I have also posted it on my facebook page to try and get some of my friends to join but that doesn't seem to work either.

Re: What can we do to get more participation?
I have only been on this site over the last month. In that time, I have learned about myself and that I am not alone in this every day struggle. It took me 20 years to get here. Twenty years of keeping the demons at bay. Twenty years of self medicating and 20 years of workaholism. Last month I lost control of the box I had everything packed in and it brought it all crashing down. This site has eased my suffering a little, re-united me with a lost unit member, refreshed my memory (which is not easy but necessary to force the gorillas out of the cage) and brought me a few laughs about some of the lighter things that happened over there. I can give information and receive some on here. Maybe I can help someone with some healing and in return, get a little myself. If it makes me a better father and husband (God knows my wife can use all the help she can get), I say keep this site going. Just keep getting on and maybe you can help. I know some of you guys have been on here for years and same ol' same ol' but if you can help even 1 vet......
Thank you guys for being here. I have no other outlets as of yet to relate to anyone else. If you ain't been there, then you ain't been there and no one else can relate.

Re: What can we do to get more participation?
You are right, if one vet gets some relief then it is worth it. I'm kind of in the boat with the outlet ... just aint one. I sometimes think that getting involved in vet groups and such might help, but I don't seem to get past the social and organizational structure ... and then the folks that mean well but come across wrong.
Hang in there.
Hang in there.

Re: What can we do to get more participation?
I have in the little time I have been on here found this to be therapeutic. I am not by any means a social butterfly. But I feel a kinship with those that were there. To have others continue to say the same thing over and over is grievous I'm but when a new face comes in and is reaching for something like myself then here it is for them. And like myself it is all new and inviting. My wife says this is my face book...LOL...
