Research for a new book

Post by johnmcmanus » Thu Jan 03, 2008 12:02 pm

I am an author and military history professor who is researching a new book called "Grunts: The American Infantry Combat Experience, World War II through the Present" (NAL/Penguin 2009). One of the book's chapters will cover the Desert Storm ground war as experienced by infantry soldiers. I am looking for first hand accounts (letters, diaries, memoirs, interviews) from any infantry vets of the campaign. I would be grateful for any information that you could provide. Thank you for your service! I look forward to hearing from you.

Greetings. I noticed your post about requesting any stories from a grunt. I served with 2nd Mar Div during desert storm. we were at the tip of the spear during those 4 days. I am not sure what exactly you are looking for but I might be interested. :x
