Please allow me to introduce myself.

Hi folks,

I was referred to here by a neo-con (at least he has some of the hallmarks of a neo-con, though I tend to dislike pigeonholing people--at least those I discuss with).

I take an interest in Int'l politics such as the Gulf war.

A few caveats though--lay my cards on the table, if you will:

I'm not a vet, nor a soldier. Aside from the WWII and Korean War variety, I know few vets and no soldiers.

Politically I'm a Libertarian, socially I'm a liberal. I'm an athiest and--well--I'm not the greatest supporter of American foreign policy.

Now if this damns me from this discussion board, so be it. Aside from this, I'll post nothing for a few hours--likely a few days--to give the "Board Lord" time to figure out how he'll deal with me.

A cursory <msp?> review of these threads showed a German who made some blanket statements.

While I enjoy rigorous debates, I for one detest hit-and runs, flames, ad hominems--at least to those I debate with, and I have a fondness for the US.

By the way, the joke about the 72 Virginians was a good one!

With that said I await your descision and comments.

Cheers, :) :D :D 8) 8)

 since you like the one about the 72 Virginians here is another

The Granny

A little old lady goes to the doctor and says, "Doctor I have this problem with gas, but it really doesn't bother me too much. My farts never smell and are always silent. As a matter of fact, I've farted at least 20 times since I've been here in your office. You didn't know I was farting because they don't smell and are silent."

The doctor says, "I see, take these pills and come back to see me next week.

"The next week the lady comes back.

"Doctor," she says, "I don't know what the heck you gave me, but now my farts...although still silent...stink terribly."

The doctor says,

"Good!!! Now that we've cleared up your sinuses, let's work on your hearing."
I am only one but I am one. I can not do everything but I can Do something And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do the something that I can do What I can do I should do And what I should do by the grace of God I will do. Edward E. Hale

I'm glad we have this little place also, I wouldn't know what to do if it closed down. So thanks Scott and Dagger, for keeping it up.

My thanks as well.I am presently deployed and internet time is a rarity for me but I try to stop by here when I get a chance.Sort of a place of solitude where I can hangout with brothers from that war and get away from the constant bantering of 18 -19 year old snotty nosed twirps who know everything about everything but have never tasted the bitter taste of battle.
Again my thanks to the owners and staff..
