Hey guys! I just ran across this site (seeing as how it's the first result on google from desert storm). I hope this site is as informative as I think it is, because i have a 7-8 page essay to write on the topic of Desert Storm. Everyone seems pretty mature on this site's forum board(except for that "america sucks" whore i saw wasting oxygen and message space), so what I'm asking is any pointers on some material I could include in the essay? Any more-than-average important events, times, or key players of the war? I haven't exactly mapped the whole site yet, but I'm still lookin!! (I hope this board is as active as I think).
THANK YOU for any information anyone could help me with in advance!!

I recommend Stormin' Norman's book, It Doesn't Take a Hero ... General Fred Frank's book, Into the Storm, and the Gulf War Chronicles which I have yet to read.

The nice thing about this forum is the breathe of information from multiple perspectives ... different service branches, different levels of command, Combat Arms, Combat Support, and Combat Service Support ... each seen from a specific vantage point.

One item of interest has stood out for years in my mind ... and that's the contrasts in the perceptions of the times, people, places, and events at different military and political levels.

:-P keep in mind, I dont have forever to do this project. Not to be overgeneralistic, just some like... key people (of course, I already know Bush and Saddam, etc...), and key battles, places. stuff like that.
Also keep in mind it doesnt need to be too detailed.
What my assignment is, is a 5-7 page Essay, I'm a junior in HS. (so basically, i dont like have time to read whole books and such.)

I still laugh whenever I see that pic. Need to air-drop a few 55 gallon drums of that to our Brothers & Sisters in Arms fighting over there right now.

Men and women, Dagger. Boys and girls play with dolls and matchbox cars, not heavy artillery and diesel.
