As my track passed through the breach, I had ACDC "Are you ready" and "Thunderstruck" playing over the track intercom system. Kinda made for a good atmosphere/feeling for all of us with headphones on. Officers inside the track didn't mind cuz it wasn't cluttering up the unit comms.

Lots and lots of Black Sabbath. They were great when Ozzy was with them. A little Dokken, AC/DC, Poison, and a little Hank Jr. (Don't give us a reason) thrown in for the HELL of it.

I was going to add my vote for Metallica, but having to second your input somehow seems to cheapen that gesture. :?

I'm sorry, but I am irritable already from work and having to put up with the peanut gallery on here.... is the purpose of this thread to recap the stateside family members' "top 40" recollections during the time of the Gulf War, or actually asking for on the line veterans' input on what they listened to?

NKOTB? WTF? Do me a favor and bitch slap yourself for accusing me of that.

I have seen Metallica 5 times now along with much harder bands. Unfortunatley i didn't have any on hand as we passed through the breach. I had seen ACDC at KSU in December just before we deployed to Saudi and I had just bought the cassette tape before leaving. My S-3 track driver was a PFC country boy from Oklahoma but he enjoyed the upbeat hard & heavy beat of some ACDC as we crossed over the berm expecting to die on the other side.

I saw Motley Crue back in 87 with Guns & Roses opening for them before anyone had ever heard of G&R. They did so good that after the 15 minutes of applause after Motley finished, everyone started chanting Guns & Roses so they would come back out...but they didn't. I also saw Megadeth while at home on leave just before I saw ACDC at KSU.

NKOTB? NKOTB? WTF is a NKOTB? Isn't that the boy band that makes you want to pluck your eyeballs out and shove them into your ears so that you don't go insane by listening to them? Oh yeah, I like them........
