Just wondering if any of you remember going through KKMC when you were deployed and what you remember of it. If you have pictures, feel free to share them with everyone here. If you need help posting your pic, just ask. I'll be more than happy to help. 8)

KFIA? Where was it, and what does KFIA stand for? Have any pics of that place you want to post? 8)

I lived on KKMC for a few weeks , Jan.-Feb. '91 (maybe?) .
I remember the AFFS* Semi-Trailer better than the Saudi base.
{*Whatever the new PX Logo was}
They had a bank , grocery store , Jewelery store , and Bowling alley.
It was a lot smaller , base wise , than KFMC .
A lot "rougher" looking , not as "refined" .
I remember having to drive by the Georgian NG tent city more clearly .
They always had a huge GA flag flying .
I seem to recall a hospital as well . It suprised me how much
it looked like an Army hospital from the fourties .
Those old white wooden "Plantation" style buldings on just about
every fort in the U.S. .

King Fahd International Airport, Saudi Arabia. I have never looked on a map to see where exactially it was I think it was near the Iraqi border, we supported the Army with the A-10's. There were Army there also, they had Apache helicopters.

Sadly, I don't have any pictures of anything to share.... save one camelride photo.

KKMC, I remember the name, but I don't recall anything looking remotely like civilization other than Khobar Towers coming and going for a few weeks.

I was looking through some boxes, and found more pictures from Saudi, and some home coming pictures. I found a bottle of sand that I had shipped home also.

I believe that I may have a few. I know that I have one of the sign that was on the highway just outside of it. I will look tonight and post them.

I have an old license plate off an Iraqi miltary vehicle. I have 3 MRE Tobasco sauce bottles each with sand from Saudi, Kuwait and Iraq sealed with electical tape (thats all we had at the time, may seal with wax now).

I have some "Russian made" sold to Iraq radiation meters, a small box of some kind that held something military by the looks of the diagrams pasted inside, some Iraqi LBE gear, a very rusted now cleaning kit from an AK47, gas masks (no filters, left them in the desert just in case they were ever used).

Sure I have more somewhere, what just escapes me now.

Sorry. The photo that I could find was pretty faded and it probably wouldn't have scanned well.

Thank you. I was Surgeon last year (lost out for Jr. Vice by 4 votes) but this year I was elected Jr. Vice. You should run for the Jr. Vice Position, they may listen to you a little more if you go through the chairs.
