Why is it that the UK and Canada got UN medals but we didn't?

I don't think that it is right either. We did go in to enforce UN Resolutions. I still need to fill out the paperwork so that I can try to get all three of my AAMs on my DD214. I wish that I would have paid more attention to that when I was getting out.

It was the same way for me. We got into Ft. Dix, NJ at around midnight and started to out process. At aroung 0200 hrs they sent us to hotels off Post and told us to be back there at 0600 hrs. Me and another guy showed up around 0800 hrs and everyone was cleaning. We missed out on a GI party. We then continued to out process all day and had to ruch to get to an airport in PA (I think) to catch a plane. I had to sign everything so fast that I am not really sure what I signed.

The second one came out in '94 and that is probably why none of us had seen it. Pictures of them are in the thread Brain fart deseet storm.
I got out in '92.........I always thought that the KLM-K was only for those who crossed the border into Kuwait. I got my KLM-SA after I was already out.
Anyone got the specs on eligibility for wearing KLM-K. Not like I haven't had to write them before to get what I deserve. Not like the Dress Blues fit anymore, but like to undate the display case for the son.

Here are the links to each Medal, I have both, after sending all of my info to the Airforce. I did not go into Kuwait....I was in Saudi Arabia the whole time, it just says in support of Desert storm. Good luck .http://www.tioh.hqda.pentagon.mil/Award ... GOVT1.html

According to the last web site, I should have 3 stars on my SW asia medal, when we got back they told us we could wear 3...I even bought the medal, but later told us only 2. I was there Dec. '90-May '91. I'm not going to go through all that crap I had to do, to get these Kuwait Medals on my DD214.

All I did was send in the Standard form 180 with a copy of my DD214 and the Army took care of it for me. I had no problems. I wrote a letter with it and said these are the dates that I was there and I would like my third star. I got it back with no problems. It took about 6 months. I am now going to try to get my 2nd and 3rd AAM on my DD214.

I was there the same time as you then, how many stars did you have on there when you got out? Did you have to write to get the third one?
