After you send it in wait about 6 months or so before you hear anything. I recieved two sets of my medals. I don't know who screwed up but I am going to be making a shadow box to put them all in. I may make two of them and donate the second one to the VFW. They probably won't want it but who knows?

I don't know why the military doesn't do it before you get the award. I mean if they will pay $5000 for a toilet seat, I am sure that a little engraving would be cheap.

I never had a problem with that. I did however have a problem with my ETS date on my LES. The said I wasn't in the military, but wouldn't let me out or pay me.

Tanks Red ! That brought a chuckle and a grin .
Then I remembered all those hours I spend with the pay master,
and records personel trying to straighten out such things .
That brought a different kind of chuckle and a sigh .

Has anyone ever heard of the Persian Gulf Veterans National Medal? I bougt a copper version of it after I got back. It says:

Passed by Congress and signed by the President on May 13, 1992, Public Law 102-281, Title III authorized by the United States Mint to strike silver medals for presentation to members of the United States Armed Forces who served in a combat zone in connection with the Persian Gulf conflict, or if deceased, to the next of kin. Bronze medal duplicates sold to the general public will fund the production and distribution of the silver medals.
