Thank you saucy, I could go on forever about this subject as I am so involved with it. I do realise that many states do not have such fantastic VFW's as others but membership to the organization as a whole is crucial. In our Post, our Veterans come first, especially those in the Vets Home. We shall perpetuate the memory of those before us that started this organization, we shall continue on untill there are no more wars and we are no longer needed.

On 21 June 2009 I will complete my term as Post Commander of my VFW Post. I will then start my term as District Jr. Vice Commander. I love the VFW. It is all what you make of it. If you go in with a bad attitude then it won't be fun. If you don't like the Post that you are at, then look for a different Post. Some Posts just don't work for some people.

They need to make it more family friendly, I quit going because of the cigarette smoke, as soon as I got home I'd throw my clothes in the washer and take a shower, I smelt like a cigarette butt.

Congrats on being elected Jr. Vice. I am now the Jr. Vice for the 4th District Department of MI. It is fun but it can also get to you.
