This would be a big HOORAH!

In addition to communicating with the local Air Traffic Control facility, all aircraft in the Persian Gulf AOR are required to give the Iranian Air Defense Radar (military) a ten minute 'heads up' if they wil l be transiting Iranian airspace.

This is a common procedure for commercial aircraft and involves giving them your call sign, transponder code, type aircraft, and points of origin and destination.

I just flew with a guy who overheard this conversation on the VHF Guard (emergency) frequency 121.5 MHz while flying from Europe to Dubai . It's too good not to pass along. The conversation went something like this...

Air Defense Radar: 'Unknown aircraft at (location unknown), you are in Iranian airspace. Identify yourself.'

Aircraft: 'This is a United States aircraft. I am in Iraqi airspace.'

Air Defense Radar: 'You are in Iranian airspace. If you do not depart our airspace we will launch interceptor aircraft!'

Aircraft: 'This is a United States Marine Corps FA-18 fighter. Send 'em up, I'll wait!'

Air Defense Radar: (no response ... Total silence)

I am sure many of you can relate to this!

One day a father gets off work and on his way home
he suddenly remembers that it's his daughter's
birthday.

He pulls over to a Toy Shop and asks the
sales person,

'How much for one of those Barbie's in the display
window?'

The salesperson answers,

'Which one do you mean, Sir?

We have:

Work Out Barbie for $19.95,

Shopping Barbie for $19.95,

Beach Barbie for $19.95,

Disco Barbie for $19.95,

Ballerina Barbie for $19.95,

Astronaut Barbie for $19.95,

Skater Barb ie for $19.95,

and Divorced Barbie for $265.95.

The amazed father asks: 'It 's what?! Why is the
Divorced Barbie $265.95 and the others only $19.95?'

The annoyed salesperson rolls her eyes, sighs, and answers:

'Sir..., Divorced Barbie comes with: Ken's Car,
Ken's House, Ken's Boat, Ken's Furniture,
Ken's Computer, one of Ken's Friends, and a key
chain made with Ken's balls.
