Re: Weather in your area.

Last night we had a torrential down pour with heavy winds, I literally had a river through my front yard that was about 3" deep. When I woke up this morning it looked like we were hit with a tornado. Trees down, branches and leaves everywhere. My yard looks like fall with the leaves but the leaves w...

Re: Private Neurologist appointment.. Possible PTSD

Sorry can't offer you any tips, I was one of the fortunate ones that so far hasn't had any problems. But I wish you the best of luck in finding some new evidence and getting the help you need and deserve.

What was the scariest thing you did or seen in the war?

Just out of curiosity I was wondering if you could share what some of your scariest moments where during Desert Shield/Desert Storm? I know that a lot of people are trained in AIT to do a specific MOS, but what did you really do? I spent seven months in AIT to learn how to repair surveillance radar ...

Re: King Khalid Military Center

Aaahhh the fond memories of long ago. I think I've been to darn near every place that was listed. And just think some of you guys had it so good. AC's in your tents, AAFES (Army and Air Force Exchange Services), real food (if you can call chow hall food real, better than MREs for breakfast, lunch an...

Well it's Friday night, about 2130 hrs, and it's start to rain. But it's good, we could use a little, we haven't has a drop for a couple weeks.

Re: VFW

For the most part I am happy with the VFW. I went through the chairs at the Post and now I am Jr. Vice of the District. Most Posts are old and they are tired of doing things and they just want the younger guys to do everything so that they can do what they do best (bitch). Look for another Post and...

Re: VFW

I know but "1st immpressions", ya know? I know what you mean. A few weeks after I was discharged I was approached by a few men and they were recruiting new members to join the VFW. I invited them in and they proceeded to tell all the stuff they were involved in and what they did in the community. I...

I remember we had a Kantina at BMF, I think the guy who ran it was named Thomas, he was from Greece. He made the best ham and cheese omelets, We never had to leave the barracks to get a beer. He would sell you one or two or a whole rack. If you were short on cash he would let some people run a tab.

Another 1st Maint. Battalion Co. I see it's been a while since there was any activity on this post. I hope you still check in every once in a while. I've seen post from the 586th Maint., myself at the 263rd Maint., and now I found you at the 229th S&S. We are still missing HQ and 22nd Maint.

Re: 586th Maint. Co. 1st. Maint. BT 7th Corp

I know that this post has not been active lately but maybe someone is still watching. I was in the 263rd, we were in the same battalion. I've been to the 586th a time or two. If my memory serves me correctly you were on Lundendorf Kaserne. When I finished AIT and left stateside for Germany I had ord...
