I saw soldiers in my Battalion get Bronze Star Awards for "non combat achievement". Meaning they were several miles behind the FLOT and were never in any "real danger".

Super Charlie 4-27 FA Here! 1SG Hairiston, Cpt "Iron Mike" Bowers. Charlie was sent to the 2nd Cavalry. Any info on 1SG Hairiston or CSM Hairiston would be greatly appreciated. Damn good 1SG and CSM. Would love to write him.

I was stationed there from October 91 until August 95. Was with C/4-27 FA. I made the move from Wertheim after we redeployed back to Germany after Desert Storm. Loved Babenhausen and loved Wertheim too. I miss them both.
