I listen to it before we attacked, but fear kept them off...but before that, it was all day and all nigh...

Re: Near Fratricide

Yea, I put my hand infront of my face, and others as well, we couldnt see our hands 3" or so from our face...thats what prompted us not to dig in, (it was more of a joke not too)...but we had few guys put thier rifles down and almost lost them...but this was a night...it had to be outside somewhere ...

Re: Near Fratricide

same kinda stuff almost happened to us, I was in 1/6 and Charlie Co pulled infront of us (unknownly), but some tanks engaged our own tanks, and a few friendly tanks were hit, and we were lining up for a fire fight when it came over that they were receiving 50cal rounds, we almost had a fire fight wi...

Re: Picking up the pows

I agree, tough shit. we captured over 5000 pows, and a few times, some of them were booby trapped, I know, first hand. We had a few WIAs because of that. Im sure there were innocent people drafted in, Sadam knew he wouldnt win, and had retreat in his head, so he left is Militia for us to destroy. Ki...

Re: 91 gulf war vet-cold steel 1/6

I was in 1/6 weapons PLt, Machine gunner, attached to 3rd plt on the right flank, we were in the center, we were the spearhead. I remember our fellow grunts in 3/6 well. Our track was hit by a mortar, but no effect on the tracks. Funny until that point we thought it was all outgoing, until then...th...

Re: cold steel

Yea, I remember that night well, it was like 3am or so, and we were on 75% alert, dug in for tanks. I remember the noise, and I sat up from sleep in my MG pit and looked up and there was a fighter jet on fire. seconds later, a large explosion about the size of 2 football fields...we all shit, thinki...

6th Marines lining up for a attack on MarJah, Afganistan

Looks like the 6th Marines are gearing up for a "announced" media covered assualt on the Taliban in Marjah. Nothing like CNN and the Media, probably Obamas idea to show the world hes tough. Kinda doesnt make since to announce it to the world....I understand the logic some what...but then again...you...
