Re: DESERT STORM REUNION

Sounds like a great idea to me. Just let me know the time and place and I will do my best to be there. Would be great to meet fellow Desert Storm Vets and swap stories.

Re: Things you hate since the war.

A year after I returned home from the Gulf I went from the Army Reserves to active duty Navy. While going through boot camp at Orlando they used the same siren used for the scud attacks for when a sever thunderstorm was in the area. The first time I heard it we were in the barracks and I dove under ...

Re:

I was in the license branch, and they don't offer it. Just the Veteran plate, Indiana has more specialty plates than any other state I've seen. The king of all specialty plates is Florida. They must have at least 100 different plates to choose from. I live in Oregon now and just got my new SWA vete...

Re: American going down?

I watched the video. Doesn't prove anything. Anyone that has even the most basic of building demolition knows that it would be done from the bottom of the building and not from the top floors falling down on the rest of the building.

I fondly remember the short time my unit spent at Kobar Towers. We were on our way back home and stayed there for a few days before going to King Fahd Airport. The funny thing was that the reason our troops were able to stay there was because the Saudi government built the place for the Beudoins to ...

My unit flew out of Hunter Army Airfield near Savanna, Ga on an Air Force C-5. Stopped at an airbase outside of Madrid, Spain for a refuel and landed in Dharan. We spent a bout a week in the tent city at Dammam port then bused out to Log Base Alpha. After two months we moved westward to Log Base Ech...

Thank you Dagger for that wonderful story. Too often people forget about what it takes to have the freedoms we do in this great nation we live in. Mostly they just want the freedoms but not the duty to preserve them. I asked someone once that if we were invaded and he had to fight for his country to...

R&R in Bahrain

Did anyone else get a chance to go to Bahrain for three days of R&R? My unit was able to go towards the end of March. Flew a C-130 out of KKMC and stayed on a cruise ship docked at a pier. Thankfully we were able to drink while there since it is legal to do so in Bahrain.

I for one find it disrespectful for someone to come on here and post spam. I mean this is a place were all of us Desert Storm Vets can share the time we spent over there and give a little insite into what we have been up to since. I do feel that the majority is just like what was said in another pos...

When my Army Reserve unit first got to Saudi we stayed in the tent city at King Abdul Aziz Seaport in Dammam. Then took a bus to Log Base Alpha. Stayed there for a couple of months then we were in TAA Roosevelt for a few days before moving on to Log Base Echo. After going to Bahrain for a few days o...
